The Speelman Creek Ranch is one of the finest ranches in Eastern Montana. It offers a balance of deeded and leased property with sufficient hay land to easily sustain a 400 head cow/calf operation. The Speelman Creek Ranch is located in the southeastern corner of Montana, approximately 18 miles south of Ekalaka, Montana on Highway 323. The ranch consists of 7,195 acres deeded, 1,400 acres State Lease, 962 Animal Unit Month BLM lease, and 80 head Forest Service Lease. There are three nice creeks on the deeded and leased property; Box Elder Creek, Speelman Creek, and Devils Creek. There are 5 electric wells presently being used. Two separate pipelines distribute water from the wells. One pipeline is .5 mile long with 2 rubber tire tanks and the other is 1.5 miles long with 4 fiberglass tanks. The creeks situated across the property, along with the mountains and breaks on the National Forest, attract an abundance of deer, antelope, grouse, and turkeys. Elk have started moving into the Forest Service land. This part of Montana boasts some of the best game hunting in the state.
