Born and ranch-raised in western South Dakota. Married 41 years to his lovely wife Shirley, they have raised three children - two girls and one son who have all pursued careers in business management, educational testing and marketing. Archie's son is involved in energy production and ranching. Community activities and involvement include serving on school boards, water management, fire department and other various community functions.

Archie has been involved in production agriculture for 46 years and has owned and operated a substantial ranching operation for 40 plus years that involved cow/calf, stocker feeder, bred heifer production and feed production. Since obtaining a real estate license in 2001, the ranching operation has been scaled back to allow the opportunity to devote the majority of time to real estate sales. Current agricultural endeavors include running a small bunch of yearling steers. Interests include team roping, hunting and golfing with friends with a desire to further pursue the hunting and golfing, however the fun things seem to take a back seat to his work ethics and work demands.
